Meet the Pastor
Hi, I'm Tom Johnston. I've been the pastor of Trinity EFC since 1998, and began my experience in Christian leadership as a student in college. I was a leader with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at CAL Berkeley and then was a staff worker with IVCF at Diablo Valley College here in the Bay Area. That's where Pierrette and I met. We were married after knowing each other for five years and were sent to Hawaii with IVCF. (Tough assignment, but someone's gotta do it!)
I've been a youth pastor at two different churches. This is my first role as a senior pastor. God has been using TEFC to refine and challenge me through the loving acceptance and responsiveness of the people here.
I've attended about four different seminaries in the course of my education. My hobbies include music, ultimate Frisbee, and keeping up with my three daughters: one in elementary school, one in middle school, one in high school. I'm allergic to yard-work so I was thrilled to have a home with no front lawn! I have a personal passion for worship and outreach to my not-yet-Christian friends.
